Bright House Customers Get ESPN On Apple Devices
Bright House Networks announced last week that ESPN is making its network programming available live on Apple Inc.'s mobile devices for subscribers to pay-TV service from Bright House.
Those subscribers can watch ESPN at no additional cost to Bright House Networks customers who receive the ESPN networks as part of their video subscription.
The WatchESPN application is downloadable via the iTunes Store, and is available for use on Apple iPads, iPhones and iPod Touches. A version of the application optimized for the Apple iPad will be available free to download in May. In the meantime iPad users are able to download and use the iPhone/iPod Touch app.
The WatchESPN application is a simple touch/swipe experience that takes the current "home based" viewing experience to the mobile and tablet device. WatchESPN allows mobile and tablet viewing of ESPN authenticated networks, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN U and ESPN3 .
Authenticated mobile versions of ESPN Goal Line and ESPN Buzzer Beater will also be available when those networks are in season.
Once a user downloads the application from the App Store, they will receive instructions to walk them through the authentication process.
