Boykin Helps Ohio Rout Eastern Michigan 45-14
ATHENS, Ohio (AP) — Ryan Boykin ran for 128 yards, Tyler Tettleton threw three touchdown passes and Ohio beat Eastern Michigan 45-14 on Thursday night.
Ohio (8-1, 4-1 Mid-American Conference) rolled to 304 yards rushing and 559 overall in its first game since a 23-20 loss at rival Miami of Ohio last Saturday knocked the then-No. 23 Bobcats out of The Associated Press Top 25. Ohio drove to the RedHawks 7 with 9 seconds left in that one, but Tettleton was sacked and the clock ran out.
This time, the Bobcats pulled away for an easy win.
Tettleton threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Donte Foster with 11 seconds left in the second quarter, and Ohio carried the momentum into the second half. Tettleton found Foster again for a 79-yard TD in the third and Boykin's 13-yard run extended the lead to 38-14 with 5:40 left in the game.
Foster finished with seven catches for 164 yards. Tettleton completed 19 of 27 passes for 255 yards with an interception, and Beau Blankenship and Daz'mond Patterson each ran for a score for Ohio.
Bronson Hill had 111 yards rushing on 25 carries for Eastern Michigan (1-8, 0-5), which has managed just 17 points since its 48-38 victory over Army on Oct. 20. Ryan Brumfield had a 3-yard touchdown run and a 17-yard reception for another score — both in the first half.
