Bomb Threat Phoned In, Police Respond To Suspicious Package
DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit Police and Homeland Security kept busy Monday evening after a bomb threat was phoned in to Detroit's 9-1-1 Emergency System.
Police Inspector Don Johnson tells WWJ, the bomb squad responded to what appeared to be a suspicious package......a book bag, in a parking lot near the Coleman A. Young Building on Jefferson.
Police attempted to X-ray the bag but were unable to. They later determined that the package was not a threat.
Jefferson was closed for more than two hours between Woodward and Beaubien as police handled the situation.
