Bomb Threat At Melvindale High School
A note threatening that a bomb would go off at 11:00am Tuesday was found in a bathroom at Melvindale High School.
The school was put on lockdown, and police were called in to investigate, however, no bomb has been found. Police Chief Rick Cadez says threats like these aren't unusual.
"We occasionally - a couple times a year seems like - we get these bomb threats and it's usually at the high school," Cadez told WWJ Newsradio 950. "Our officers went to the school and the principal put the school on lockdown. We did a search and did not locate any bomb, however, we are going to have a bomb dog come to the school and check further."
Cadez says making a bomb threat is a felony and if authorities are able to find the person - or persons - responsible, they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. That could include a pretty lengthy prison sentence.
