Bomb Scare At Independence Twp. Kroger
INDEPENDENCE TWP. (WWJ) - Oakland County authorities are looking for a man who created a bomb scare at a Kroger store because he wanted Vicodin.
The Michigan State Police Bomb Squad was called to the store on Sashabaw Road in Independence Township about 8 p.m. Thursday after a man put a package on the counter of the pharmacy and demanded the prescription drug. The suspect said the package was a bomb.
The bomb squad determined there was no bomb.
A K-9 track of the suspect led them to a home on Everest Street, but no arrests have been made.
The suspect is described as about 40-years-old, 5'5'', with a thin build and was wearing glasses a green jacket and camouflage hat. Police say he could face charges including possession/delivery of a device representing or presented as an explosive or bomb with intent to terrorize.
