Silence has been emanating from Calvin Johnson's camp lately, as the star wide receiver mulls his future in football. But Lions general manager Bob Quinn told reporters at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., Wednesday that he had not reached out to Johnson and didn't want to influence his decision one way or another.

"I mean, there will be a time and place for me to do that," Quinn said, according to the Free Press. "I just have felt like the last couple weeks wasn't that time. He's an iconic figure; he's a great figure. It's on my to-do list. I just didn't feel I wanted to rush into it, because he still has some things that he's trying to sort through."

Although he finished the 2015 season with 88 receptions for 1,214 yards and nine touchdowns, Johnson spent the last half of the season on the injury report. He was hampered by a recurring ankle injury, and has also dealt with other ailments throughout the years.

Johnson's agent, Bus Cook, told the Free Press that the receiver was "tired" and had not given a timetable for his decision.

According to the Free Press, Quinn also told reporters he was still evaluating director of pro personnel Sheldon White, who spent half of last season as the team's interim GM. White has been with the franchise for 19 years, working his way up through scouting positions.

Quinn has only been on the job a couple of weeks, but has begun making significant changes to the front office, letting go longtime vice president of football operations Cedric Saunders, as well as staff from the marketing, strength and conditioning and scouting departments. He previously announced that head coach Jim Caldwell and his staff would remain for the 2016 season.
