Blue Jays 4, Tigers 2
LAKELAND (97.1 THE TICKET) - Andy Dirks hit a solo shot in the first inning to get the Tigers on the board first but momentum didn't carry for long as the Detroit Tigers lose to the Toronto Blue Jays 4-2 on Saturday afternoon.
Starting pitcher Doug Fister (0-2), who has not had a strong start in spring training, struggled through just over three innings of play getting tagged for four runs in the loss against the Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays Jose Bautista hit a 2-run shot to left off Fister, scoring Melky Cabrera, to put Toronto up 2-1 after the first inning.
Alex Avila scored on wild pitch in the second but the Blue Jays answered with two runs in the fourth to seal the victory.
The Tigers take on the Washington Nationals Sunday at 1:05 p.m.
