Bloomfield Hills Police Make Several Arrests In Connection With Shooting By Cop Impersonator
BLOOMFIELD HILLS (WWJ) - Police say several people are in custody in connection with the shooting of a Bloomfield Hills lawyer at his home last week.
David Zacks, 57, told police a man had demanded to come in, claiming to be a police office. When he Zacks refused, the man fired shots through the door, striking him several times.
According to Bloomfield Hills Police Chief David Hendrickson, it was a botched robbery attempt.
"Mr. Zacks and Mr. Zacks' home was targeted," Hendrickson told WWJ Newsradio 950's Marie Osborne. "It was not random, and so we're confident that we've solved it, and...now we're just working towards obtaining warrants for these people."
Investigators are seeking warrants for a 28-year old woman and a 20-year old man, both from Sterling Heights, police said, along with additional suspects.
The shooting happendd just before midnight, April 30, in the 200 block of Woodwind Dr., near Lahser and Square Lake Rd. Zacks remained hospitalized in stable condition on Monday.
The names of those arrested were not immediately released.
