Blog: Wake Up Sparty Fans And Believe

Many Michigan State fans wrote off the college football season following their loss to Nebraska. As Mike Valenti has preached all year it was 'College Football Playoff or bust' for MSU this year.
Well believe it or not a lot can change in college football in just 10 days. The Nebraska loss has become irrelevant. It's my belief Michigan State still controls its own destiny to make the Playoff. If they run the table including wins over Top 4 Ohio State and Iowa teams, they will have the best one-loss resume in the country. They'll be the Big Ten Champ. And that will be enough to get them in the playoff.
The problem is most MSU fans don't believe they can make the playoff because they don't believe MSU can win in Columbus. Why not? All year long Sparty fans knew they had to win at Ohio State to get in the Playoff. That hasn't changed.
The Lions winning in Green Bay proves you should never chalk up a loss until it happens. Even if MSU fans don't think they will win at OSU, they should still get behind their team and believe because of what is at stake. They're still a National Title contender in theory even if they're not by eye test.
This time last year nobody thought Ohio State would win the National Championship. College football has become much like the NFL. Just stay in the game and get hot late in the year. MSU has completed step one. Now step two awaits. Believe Sparty fans. Believe!
