BLOG: Another Monday Night Raw Without The Undertaker Or Sting

Raw was pretty uneventful.  It's not that the show was bad, it just wasn't good.  I thought this was WrestleMania season.  I thought this was supposed to be the time where the WWE puts their best foot forward to lead into "The Granddaddy of Them All."  But this…this middle of the road dribble…it's kind of disappointing.

The star of tonight's show was Seth Rollins.  Rollins opened the show with a decent promo, but was then fed to Roman Reigns to help his push.  Rollins had a good talking segment with Jon Stewart, which was entertaining but really did nothing to further any type of storylines.  Then he got the win in the main event over Reigns due to Randy Orton's interference, but was once again fed to Reigns post match to help Reigns' push.  So the star of the show was in three big segments that did nothing for him.  The impending feud between Rollins and Orton is still being dragged out; there wasn't even a tease of conflict tonight.  They do know Mania is only 27 days away right?

Reigns was booked to look strong again, which he did, but once again it was mainly due to the actions of others rather than Reigns himself.  I hate to sound like a broken record, but at some point Reigns has to be able to sell himself doesn't he?  That or he needs a mouth piece like Paul Heyman.  Take a moment to consider how the match between Reigns and Brock Lesnar would be being sold without Heyman's amazing mic preference…scary thought isn't it.

Can someone please explain to me what is going on with the Intercontinental Championship?  Actually, you know what would be great?  If the WWE had one of the guys chasing the title explain why they keep stealing it.  Maybe a guy like Dean Ambrose who is money on the mic, just a thought.  I suppose we should be happy the title is finally getting some sort of attention, and the guys that will be in the ladder match will put on a great show, though I still don't see R Truth belonging in this one.

Quick Hits:

  • A Viagra joke between Miz and Mizdow? What year is this?  This is however one of the successful slow burn feuds going on right now.
  • Another great Bray Wyatt promo…another no show by The Undertaker.
  • Another great Triple H promo…another no show by Sting.
  • John Cena doesn't get his match against Rusev unless he convinces Rusev to face him. So sometime in the next 27 days Cena will convince Rusev.
  • Holy crap the Divas got more than 30 seconds this week. Nice to see A.J. Lee back on T.V. for more than one reason.
  • Daniel Bryan vs Luke Harper is a match I could watch over and over. Guys like them who can just go need to be set free to do what they do and given the proper amount of time to do it.
