Big Ten Announces 2014-15 Men's Basketball Games To Appear On CBS Sports And ESPN
ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten announced its 2014-15 men's basketball conference games to be televised by CBS Sports or an ESPN network on Thursday. All 252 Big Ten men's basketball games will be produced and distributed on CBS Sports, an ESPN network or BTN, which released its designations earlier this week.
The Big Ten schedule will begin with four games on Tuesday, Dec. 30, including a triple header on ESPN2 and one game airing on ESPNU. The ESPN2 slate will feature Ohio State hosting Iowa, defending Big Ten Champion Michigan entertaining Illinois and 2014 Big Ten Tournament Champion Michigan State hosting Maryland in its first Big Ten game. Rutgers will also make its Big Ten debut by hosting Northwestern on ESPNU.
The first Big Ten game airing on CBS Sports will be on Saturday, Jan. 17, when Michigan State makes a return trip to Maryland. CBS Sports will carry eight games on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the conference season, including wildcard selections on Feb. 22, March 1 and March 8, which marks the final day of the regular season. CBS Sports will also continue to provide coverage of the Big Ten Tournament for the 18th consecutive year, carrying the semifinals and championship game on March 14 and 15. At least seven conference teams are set to appear on CBS Sports during the Big Ten season, including Indiana at Ohio State on Jan. 25, Michigan at Michigan State on Feb. 1, Michigan at Indiana on Feb. 8 and Illinois at Wisconsin on Feb. 15.
In a nine-week span during the conference season, the Big Ten will have one game on an ESPN network every Tuesday at 7 or 9 p.m. ET as part of the network's Super Tuesday lineup. ESPN or ESPN2 will also carry at least one Big Ten game as part of the network's Thursday Night Showcase throughout the conference season, while ESPNU will air an additional 11 conference games to be played on Thursdays and Saturdays. Five games during the first three rounds of the Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament will also be televised by ESPN or ESPN2.
