Big Snow: 6-10 Inches To Fall On Metro Detroit This Weekend
DETROIT (WWJ) - Get ready for this season's first measurable snowfall in metro Detroit.
AccuWeather is upping the ante, with forecasters now calling for 6 to 10 inches of snow across the Southeast Michigan area this weekend.
WWJ AccuWeather Meteorologist John Feerick said there shouldn't be any accumulation as a snow shower or two passed over Friday night, but it looks like a "significant winter storm" is on the way.
"Snow begins tomorrow (Saturday evening) and will continue at varying intensity later tomorrow night through Sunday — accumulating six to ten inches," Feerick said. "Definitely we're going to have dangerous travel conditions tomorrow night through Sunday."

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with some snow possible. Low 23F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph. Little or no accumulation.
Saturday Night: Cloudy with heavier snow showers developing late. Low 23F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 68%. Snow accumulating 1-3 inches.
Sunday Night: Snow in the evening will mix with rain at times overnight. Low around 30F. Winds SSW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precip 90%. 1 to 3 more inches of snow expected, with sleet and freezing rain possible late.
