Big Rapids Man Gets 30 Years For Child Porn
A western Michigan man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for taking nude photos of a 15-year-old girl. Federal Judge Robert Holmes Bell in Grand Rapids ordered the maximum punishment Friday for Patrick Corp, a 35-year-old man from Big Rapids.
Corp pleaded guilty in July to sexually exploiting a minor. Defense lawyer David Dodge said Corp met her over the Internet and believed she was 18. He said they had sex and Corp took pictures.
Federal prosecutor Dan Mekaru said Corp used the teen for "sexual gratification and then disposed of her like a dirty Kleenex.'' He said Corp had nude photos of more than 30 females, many appearing to be under 18.
Corp has been in federal court in the past. A similar 1999 case was overturned by an appeals court.
