Big Plays Dog Lions' Improved D-Line

The Lions made a serious off-season investment in bolstering the defensive line and through two games that investment appears to be paying off.

Kyle Vanden Bosch, who signed a $26-million free-agent deal in March, looks like the best defensive end the Lions have had since three-time Pro Bowler Robert Porcher. Defensive tackle and No. 2 overall draft pick Ndamukong Suh's pash-rushing, pocket-pushing ability is starting to draw comparisons to Bubba Baker.
The defensive line has not quite reached the heady heights of the Lions' famed Silver Rush of the late 1970s and early '80s. But with 10 sacks, which are tied with Green Bay for the NFL lead, the Lions' current defensive line is starting to make a name for itself.
