Bicyclist Killed While Crossing Street
CANTON (WWJ) - Police in Canton are investigating a deadly crash involving a bicyclist.
Police say a 26-year-old Canton woman was walking her bike across Haggerty Road just north of Michigan Avenue when she was struck by a Jeep around 8:15 pm Thursday.
The driver of the Jeep, who is also a resident of Canton, was turning onto Michigan Ave. when he struck the woman.
The victim was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Ypsilanti, where she later died of injuries sustained.
At this time, police say it does not appear that alcohol or drugs were involved. An investigation is ongoing.
