Best Halloween Parties In Downtown Detroit

Detroit knows how party, especially on Halloween. Everyone comes out to celebrate at the amazing events held throughout the city. Some venues offer music and mayhem while others feature acrobatics and anarchy. Many events are hosting costume contests and all encourage arriving dressed to impress. Around every corner of the city are frightening parties that will make your head spin and your blood curdle. I dare you not to scream.

If you couldn't score tickets to Theatre Bizarre or if you simply can't get enough of spine-chilling carnivals, Hellbent III is here. Get scared out of your wits at this year's phantasmal event, held at the foreboding Russell Industrial Center on Saturday, October 27. The festivities begin at 8 p.m. and will last until the next morning. Music will be terror-iffic and includes DJ Pleasure Kitten, Crud, Flashclash and Haf Life. A zombie carnival is included in the ticket price and costumes are highly recommended. There will be a cash bar on site.

One of the most spectacular Halloween events will be held at the stunning Detroit Opera House from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m. Haunted in the House will feature two floors of entertainment which includes music, dancing and beats by DJ Tom T. The Detroit Circus will be performing at this incomparable venue. Specialty drinks, savory hors d'oeuvres and midnight snacks will also be available. Each ticket includes one complimentary drink. Arrive at the grand staircase at midnight to take part in the costume contest. There will be a $500 prize for the best overall costume and $250 for the best scary costume and best couple or group costume.

Be prepared to be frightened on Friday, October 26. The Detroit Pub is hosting its Monstrous Halloween Bash. The witching hour begins at 7 p.m. for this very popular event. A $200 prize is offered for the best costume. There will also be shot specials and a live DJ spinning. This party continues until bar close so make sure to wear your dancing shoes.

One of Detroit's premier nightclubs is hosting a special Halloween event, Nightmare on Woodward. This screamer will be held at 10 p.m. on Friday, October 26. Dance the night away because the party doesn't stop until 4 a.m. Music will be provided by DJ Godfather, DJ Maz, Vyctor Ukraine, DJ Juice and others. All three levels will be open with the lower level being transformed into a haunted house where you can hear The Yang Brothers, G Major, Marcus Beier and PRGRM. There will be door prizes and cash prizes awarded for the best costume.

Show up for the Freaks Come Out At Nite party on Saturday, October 27 at The Fillmore in Detroit. This 3rd annual celebration will get underway at 9 p.m. with the theatre serving as a unique backdrop for this intriguing event. Although costumes are not required, this event is renown as a costume gala, so get in the spirit and dress accordingly. Please bring a valid ID as this bash is for attendees ages 21 and up.
