Berries At Border Lead To Bust
DETROIT (WWJ) - Canadian customs agents found something extra in a shipment of raspberries at the Ambassador Bridge.
According to WXYZ - a couple of bags of cocaine, worth an estimated street value of nearly four million dollars - were found among the cargo of California-grown raspberries bound for Canada.
The truck driver, a 50 year-old Ontario man, is under arrest, facing charges of importing and possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
WWJ has left a voicemail message with the U.S. Border Patrol for further comment.
