Beer Is Big Business In Michigan
DETROIT (WWJ) - A new study shows the beer industry contributes more than $5 billion to Michigan's economy each year. WWJ's Rob Sanford reports the business is also brewing jobs in Michigan.
The Washington-based Beer Institute said the industry generates more than 56,000 jobs in our state and accounts for $1.8 billion in wages and benefits.
The study also found that Michigan is home to 130 beer distributors, not to mention a number of large and small brewers.
Brew is also big business across the nation, contributing an estimated $223 billion to the U.S. economy each year.
