Become A Wolverine During 'Michigan Men's Football Experience'
ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - Have you ever dreamed about becoming a Michigan football player?
You'll have the chance to turn your dream into reality during the "Michigan Men's Football Experience" -- a two-day event that gives participants first hand knowledge of what it's like to be a Wolverine.
Dave Brandon, Director of Athletics for the University of Michigan, said participants will literally get a chance to live the life of a Wolverine, complete with a dinner featuring coaches and former players.
"There's a legends dinner, where they actually have the pre-game meal that the team enjoys before a game, they have their own locker in the locker room, they run down the tunnel, they see game film, they meet with strength and conditioning coaches to learn how that all works, they do it all," he said.
There will also be round-table discussions on leadership, player recruitment and game strategy. Participants will also have the opportunity to catch a touchdown pass and kick the extra point after scoring a touchdown.
The event takes place June 6 and June 7 and costs $2,500 per person. Brandon said it's all for a worthy cause to benefit the "Men of Michigan" Prostate Cancer Research Fund.
"Proceeds from this event go to support prostate cancer research and what an appropriate source of philanthropy for men to come in and participate in this program and know that the proceeds go to a cause that is the most prevalent form of cancer in men," Brandon said.
Each participant will receive an authentic game jersey, practice t-shirt, shorts, autographed football, team photo, camp highlights on DVD, other gifts and souvenirs, and memories that are sure to last a lifetime.
