Beaumont Opens Health, Wellness Center in Rochester Hills
Beaumont Hospitals has opened a new $20-million Health & Wellness Center in Rochester Hills offering a comprehensive, integrated approach to rehabilitative care and wellness.
Located on 6.5 acres of land on South Boulevard between John R. and Dequindre roads, the 98,000 square-foot, three-story center offers MRI testing, integrative medicine, rehabilitation services, a Center for Pain Medicine and private physician offices, all centered around a 40,000 square-foot fitness center.
"The Health & Wellness Center integrates the medical resources of Beaumont Hospitals and the expertise of Beaumont doctors with the amenities of a medically based fitness center that is open to everyone – patients and community members." says Eric Hunt, Beaumont Hospitals, senior vice president of Administration Services.
The Beaumont Health & Wellness Center is a collaboration between Beaumont, Landmark Healthcare Facilities and Richard Easton, M.D, director of Spine Surgery at Beaumont Hospital, Troy.
"This new facility will give people with back and neck pain a single point of access for the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for these often debilitating conditions," Easton said.
Sola Life & Fitness -- the Health & Wellness Center's first occupant -- opened Feb. 1 and has more than 1,400 members. The fitness center includes: open exercise areas with cable and free weights, cardio-exercise machines, group fitness studios, an indoor cycle room, an indoor track, a half-court gym, a four-lane lap pool, a warm-water therapy pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, child care and laundry services.
Beaumont's Integrative Medicine service opened its third location at the Health & Wellness Center in late February. In addition to clinical massages, the new location offers Thai-yoga and hot stone massages, acupuncture, reiki therapy, guided imagery, hydrotherapy and other therapeutic and sports massage treatments.
Rehabilitation Services at the Beaumont Health & Wellness Center offers physical and occupational therapy treatments to address joint and bone disorders, as well as conditions resulting from illness, injury or surgery. These services include training in ergonomics and work-conditioning programs; comprehensive spinal care; pelvic floor therapy; and offering individualized orthopedic treatments, such as therapeutic rehabilitation and sports therapy sessions in a heated 754 square-foot pool.
Beaumont's Center for Pain Medicine moved its outpatient services from Beaumont Hospital Troy to the new building March 21. Those with chronic pain receive a comprehensive approach to pain management through a variety of techniques offered in a private outpatient setting.
The Beaumont Health & Wellness Center will offer convenient, on-site MRI services by summer. Beaumont offers the latest imaging technology, with images interpreted by board-certified Beaumont radiologists.
The Beaumont Health & Wellness Center was designed by architectural firms Hobbs+Black Architects (interiors) and Leo A. Daly (exteriors).
