Bears Sign Former Lions OT Scott
LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — The Chicago Bears have signed veteran offensive tackle Jonathan Scott, while defensive tackle Nate Collins was reinstated to the active roster.
The Bears also waived punter Ryan Quigley, signed tight end Dedrick Epps to the practice squad and terminated the practice squad contract of offensive tackle Cory Brandon.
Scott spent the past two seasons with Pittsburgh, starting 14 games and three playoff games, before being released in July. Scott was picked up by Detroit — the team that drafted him in 2006 — but hurt his knee, ultimately getting released off injured reserve. He says he's "very healthy" now.
Collins was placed on the reserved/suspended list after the NFL suspended him in July for the season opener against Indianapolis for violating the substance abuse program.
