Battle Creek Soldier Killed In Afghanistan
BATTLE CREEK (WWJ) - A soldier from Battle Creek has died in Afghanistan. The Department of Defense says Army Sergeant Joshua Throckmorton was killed by an improvised explosive device.
The 28-year old was married and had three children. Throckmorton was three months into a one-year deployment in Afghanistan.He was recently stationed in Germany but had also served 15 months in Iraq.
"Rest in peace Josh, you will be missed but never forgotten," said one friend on Facebook.
Throckmorton's death comes six weeks after Thomas Allers, 23, of Plainwell was killed in Afghanistan.
