Autopsy: Man Who Googled Symptoms Died Of Heart Attack
GRAND RAPIDS (WWJ) - An autopsy has revealed that a man who Googled symptoms of chest pain and sweating shortly before his death died of a heart attack.
The body of 38-year-old Pheu Tran was found this week in a parking lot at Grand Valley State's Pew campus in Grand Rapids.
Police discovered Tran had searched the Internet for the symptoms before returning to his car.
"It appears that he had been using the university's computer lab and was researching health issues, actually specific symptoms of a health problem, which may give us an indication of what was going on, " Lt. Patrick Merrill said. "Maybe he thought he would just lay down for a minute and feel a little better, but unfortunately he passed away."
Authorities said Tran suffered from an underlying vascular disease.
He was not a GVSU student.
