Automation Alley To Sponsor Techonomy Detroit, Sept. 17
TROY (WWJ) -- Automation Alley, Michigan's largest technology business association, announced it is sponsoring Techonomy Detroit on Sept. 17.
This all-day public conference, returning to Detroit for a second year, is held on the campus of Wayne State University and will include workshops and encourage conversation focused on technology's role in economic growth, job creation and Detroit's urban revival.

We know that revitalizing Detroit's economy is crucial to this mission," said Automation Alley Senior Director Tom Anderson. "Each year, we hear the exciting new success stories of tech startups popping up downtown and we want to keep that momentum going in a positive direction. We support what Techonomy Detroit is doing to create conversation between the community, its businesses and leaders in education and government."
National and local leaders will come together to discuss ways to improve America's urban educational system by creating a learning environment that embraces technology and cultivates job creation. In addition, Techonomy will explore how Detroit can diversify its economy, become a city of collaboration and, as technology rapidly transforms, creatively apply new innovations to help revive its infrastructure and spur economic growth.
Confirmed speakers include Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, Quicken Loans Chairman Dan Gilbert, Twitter Chairman and Square CEO Jack Dorsey, Detroit Venture Partners CEO and Managing Partner Josh Linkner, Etsy CEO Chad Dickerson and Venture for America CEO Andrew Yang, among several others.
In addition to Automation Alley, Techonomy Detroit partners include the Michigan Economic Development Corp., Quicken Loans, Ford Motor Co., Michigan Media Solutions, McKinsey & Co., Cisco Systems Inc. and Skidmore Studio.
