Auburn Hills Hosts 'Firefighters Against Hunger' Food Drive
AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) - Auburn Hills firefighters and volunteers from the Auburn Hills Helping Hands are working to combat hunger in the community and beyond through the annual "Firefighters Against Hunger" food drive.
Food donations will be accepted on Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Auburn Hills Fire Department Station #2 (on the Auburn Hills Municipal Campus at N. Squirrel and University) between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
There will be music, family events and fire trucks on display as the community celebrates the generosity of the donors.
During last year's drive, the firefighters collected almost 1,000 lbs. of non-perishable food items, which were donated to the City of Auburn Hills Food Pantry.
Firefighters Against Hunger is a grassroots movement started in Auburn Hills that organizes food collection days throughout the year to help eradicate hunger.
