Atwell Acquires Peak Power from UniversalPegasus International
SOUTHFIELD -- The Southfield based engineering and construction firm Atwell LLC has acquired Peak Power Engineering Inc. from UniversalPegasus International Inc.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Based in Denver, Peak Power provides electrical and power engineering services for utility scale power generation systems, transmission lines and distribution networks. These new services enhance Atwell's in-house capabilities and ability to deliver comprehensive development, design and construction solutions to the power industry and its clients.
"The addition of power delivery services creates a one-stop shop for our clients," said Atwell President and CEO Brian Wenzel. "This acquisition is a critical element of our long-term growth strategy in the energy and utility markets."
With the addition of Peak Power, Atwell can provide power system design and consulting services including substation engineering, transmission line design, distribution system engineering and industrial power system design. Currently, Atwell provides other professional services to clients active in the renewable energy, oil and gas, electric transmission and utility markets through its 12 offices throughout the US and Canada.
Founded in 1994, Peak Power has completed more than 1,500 projects including more than 450 substations/switchyards, 350 transmission lines and distribution projects and more than 50 wind and solar interconnection projects. Approximately 30 employees will continue to operate under the Peak Power flagship from their existing office in Lakewood, Colorado. Approximately 15 team members from Atwell's existing Denver office will relocate to the Lakewood office in the near future.
