Murder-Suicide In Westland
Investigators are trying to unravel the details behind an apparent murder-suicide in Westland.
Police arrived on the scene early Monday morning, at the London Townhouses on Ann Arbor Trail near Middlebelt Road, where they found the couple in the basement.
Initial reports said Lutfi Dashi shot his wife, Ermira Dashi, several times, critically injuring her, then shot and killed himself a short time later.
The woman was taken to Botsford hospital where she died later Monday morning.
Two adult children, including one who called police, were interviewed by authorities.
Residents at the complex, gathering and talking with each other at complex, were shaken by what happened.
Neighbor Barbara Kesteloot wondered if the couple may have had financial hardships.
"That's the only thing I can think of, because I can't see this happening. I can't see anyone here doing this," she said.
Police tell WWJ there were previous reports of domestic violence involving the couple.
