ASTI Adds Environmental Concerns Assessment
BRIGHTON -- ASTI Environmental announced a new product, the Environmental Concerns Assessment, which blends environmental review, end use strategies and information on development incentives into a single document.
ASTI president Tom Wackerman said that document can become a road map to guide public-private partnerships through the redevelopment process of properties.
Derek Delacort, community development director for the city of Ferndale, agrees: "Understanding the perceived and actual environmental impediments to redevelopment efforts can be critical if you want to identify and prioritize incentives early in the redevelopment cycle."
An ECA can help realize solutions to overcome environmental impediments to redevelopment on a single parcel, a corridor or over a wide area. The cities of Detroit, Ecorse, Ferndale, Flint, Inkster, Kentwood, Livonia, Milford and Rochester Hills are among the first communities to use the ECA to launch their planning activities with developers.
ASTI Environmental has provided environmental consulting and engineering to the Great Lakes Region since 1985 from offices in Brighton and Grand Rapids. More at www.asti-env.com.
