Arrest Made In Connection With 2015 Armed Robbery Of Liquor Store
MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ) -- Police say that a man has been arrested in Macomb County in connection with an armed robbery that took place in November 2015.
Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said that Robert Lee Horton was arrested on Thursday at his girlfriend's home in Clinton Township and is being charged with armed robbery.
Horton is accused of robbing the South Valley Liquor Store in Mount Clemens on November 8, 2015. Deputies responded to the store after a panic alarm was received and determined that a man entered the store twice, within minutes.
The store, located on S. Gratiot just south of Harrington St., has a surveillance camera system and the camera recorded images of the suspect.
On Thursday, detectives got a tip that the suspect was a 53-year-old Mount Clemens man.
In searching a computer database, detectives learned that the man had four outstanding warrants for his arrest and his appearance matched the images that had been captured on the surveillance cameras.
Horton was arraigned by video in the 41B District Court of Clinton Township. He was given a $200,000 cash-or-surety bond and will appear back in court on September 14.
