Arrest In Murder Of 25-Year-Old Warren Woman
WARREN (WWJ) - An arrest has been made in connection with the brutal murder of a Warren woman.
The body of 25-year-old Shalisa O'Dell was found following the fatal attack in her rental home on Garrick in Warren.
Police said, Johncarlos Johnson, the 26-year-old father of O'Dell's 2-year-old son confessed on Friday afternoon to the killing, and was arraigned Monday afternoon.
A family member, who had been caring for O'Dell's child, made the gruesome discovery on Dec. 9, after growing concerned that she hadn't heard from O'Dell. Police said she died of multiple skill fractures; a lot of blood was found at the scene.
Police said the child's father was the lone suspect in the case. The prosecutor, Monday afternoon, was reviewing video of the confession to determine charges.
According to police, O'Dell worked as an exotic dancer at Deja Vu — a topless bar on Woodward Ave. near McNichols in Highland Park. Her brother told WWJ she was also a manager at a Foot Locker store.
O'Dell's was only the second murder in the city of Warren in 2013.
