Armed Robbers Caught On Camera Ambushing Detroit Man On Porch [VIDEO]

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are hoping the public can help identify two men wanted in connection to two armed robberies on the city's east side.

The first incident, which was captured on camera, took place around 1:20 a.m. on Friday, June 12 in the 3000 block of Bristow near Conant Street and Carpenter Avenue.

Video shows the  23-year-old victim approaching his home when a gray minivan stops in the street in front of his residence. As the man was walking up his porch, two suspects exit the vehicle and ambush him. One suspect was wielding a long-gun, police said.

The suspects robbed the man of  his wallet and cellphone before getting back in their minivan and speeding away. No injuries were reported.

The second incident occurred just minutes later about a half-mile away at the intersection of Lawley and Klinger streets. Police say the suspects, with a gun drawn, robbed a 50-year-old man who was taking on his cellphone. They made off with an undetermined amount of cash. No injuries were reported.

The first suspect is described as a black man with a light complexion and  medium build. He was wearing a white jacket with black leather sleeves, a red baseball cap and a red bandana. He was armed with a long gun.

The first suspect is described as a black man about 5'5" tall and 200 pounds. He was wearing a light-colored jacket, a baseball cap and a ski mask.
