Armed Harley Rider Wanted For Assault In Alleged Case Of Road Rage
SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Authorities are looking for a motorcyclist wanted in an alleged case of armed road rage.
Oakland County Sheriff's officials, shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday, responded to a call about an incident of road rage on Tindall Road in Springfield Township.
The victim — a 41-year-old Davisburg man — told deputies he and the suspect got into a verbal dispute about an incident on the road. The pair was stopped on the side of the road when, the victim claims, the other man pulled out a gun, pointed it at his head and threatened to shoot him.
Authorities haven't detailed what led to the argument. No shots were fired and no one was hurt.
Deputies searched for the suspect — who fled on a blue Harley-Davidson motorcycle — but were unable to find him. A "be on the lookout" request was broadcast to neighboring law enforcement agencies, but police haven't been able to find the suspect who is wanted on a charge of felonious assault.
The wanted biker is described as a white male in his 50s with a long, gray goatee. He was wearing a black leather "Iron Order" motorcycle jacket and helmet and carrying a small-caliber handgun. His Harley had a Michigan license plate, number unknown.
Anyone with information about this suspect or incident should call the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.
