Arkansas Governor Throws First Pitch In MLB Game
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe threw out the first pitch in Tuesday's matchup between the Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers.
The governor was in Michigan to speak at the Michigan Leadership Forum hosted by Governing Magazine.
Beebe is a lifelong Tigers fan. Former Razorback Drew Smyly, now a pitcher for the Tigers, caught the governor's pitch. Beebe also spent time before the game talking with Pine Bluff native Torii Hunter, who now plays for the Tigers.
The governor may have been good luck. Detroit beat Minnesota 6-1.
