Area Attorney To Climb Mount Kilamanjaro For A Good Cause
A local attorney is taking on Mount Kilamanjaro for a cause very close to his heart. To help raise money for Special Olympics Michigan, 67-year-old Steve Gutman,of Franklin, along with his two sons, 41- year-old Rob and 40-year-old Michael, will climb Mount Kilamanjaro.
Gutman is serving his first term on the Board for Special Olympics Michigan. He's an attorney and partner at Bodman, L.L.P. in Detroit. Gutman has been involved with Special Olympics Michigan since 2009.
Gutman tells WWJ that he chose the 19-thousand-three-hundred and 40-foot mountain because he comes from a very competitive and athletic family and when you combine that with his passion for Special Olympics Michigan, he says it's a great combination.
Gutman and his sons will fly to Tanzania on Wednesday. Their climb will start 3-days later, ending on January 20th.
