Are You Gladiator Tough?
DETROIT (WWJ) - Woodward Avenue won't be the only place to see American muscle on display in Southeast Michigan this weekend.
For the first time ever, the "Gladiator Rock'N Run" is coming to the Detroit area on Saturday.
Creator Dan "Nitro" Clark, of American Gladiators fame, says Stoney Creek Metro Park will be transformed into a place where competitors can put themselves to the test.
"The Gladiator Rock'N Run is an obstacle course meets a concert," Clark told WWJ Health Reporter Sean Lee. "There's mud; there are cargo nets; there are lakes to swim across. There's 17 to 22 challenges."
If you're not quite sure you're "gladiator tough," keep in mind the course is designed to accommodate spectators and there's a big celebration afterword.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Talk About Curing Autism, an organization dedicated to supporting families affected by the disorder.
The event takes place beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17. To register or for more details, visit this link.
