Apple Officially Announces Press Event, Product Speculation Begins

SOUTHFIELD (CBS Detroit) - Apple has reportedly sent out invitations for a press event on Sept. 9 in California, but did not reveal any details about what products will be announced.
According to CNET, all the company stated about the event at the Flint Center for the Performing Arts in Cupertino was "Wish we could say more."
If Apple holds to the tradition of unveiling new iPhones in the fall, Apple will use the event to unveil the new iPhone 6. The article stated that many analysts expect Apple to offer two versions of the smart phone with display sizes of 4.7 and 5.5 inches.
The phone may also offer a mobile payment platform on the device, according to CNET,
Other possible products which the tech giant is rumored to be unveiling included an iWatch and a larger iPad. An article by Mashable stated that Apple may be offering a 12.9-inch iPad, which is larger than the traditional 9.7-inch model.
The press event reportedly comes one week after Samsung unveils its Galaxy Note 4 phone-tablet hybrid.
