Apple Encounters iOS 8 Update Issues
By Edward Cardenas
SOUTHFIELD (CBS Detroit) - Apple pulled an update to the iOS 8 operating system after a number of users reported a variety of problems, according to reports.
The issues ranged from disabled phones, losing cell service and the inability to use Touch ID, the Washington Post reported.
CNET stated the software patch was intended to fix HealthKit, access to photos in the photo library and operational issues with the new iPhone 6.
The update is no longer available, and appears to be affecting the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
While the problems are not affecting the older devices, CNET stated that iPhone 6 users on all major carriers were reporting issues.
USA Today received a statement from Apple which confirmed the company is pulling back the iOS 8.01 update and was investigating the reported problems.
The release of the new iPhone has been successful for Apple from a sales perspective. The company sold 10 million of the larger devices in the first three days it was released.
