Appia Acquires Connect Communications
Traverse City-based Appia Communications, a provider of managed communications and network services, today announced that it has acquired Connect Communications, a multi-tenant business telecom provider headquartered in Indianapolis.
Connect serves customers in more than 70 buildings representing more than 2.5 million square feet of business real estate. Current products include telephone services and Internet access.
"This is a great fit. It expands our market reach and gives us entry into the multi-tenant market," said Victor von Schlegell, president of Appia Communications.
With the acquisition, customers can now choose ISDN PRI, hosted and Session Internet Protocol trunking-based Voice over Internet Protocol phone service, private networking via MPLS, Internet access, video conferencing, and the other managed services that Appia offers.
"This acquisition adds 25 years of multi-tenant telecom experience to Appia. This experience is essential for us to enter the multi-tenant market across the country," continued von Schlegell.
"We are excited to be a part of the Appia family and look forward to completing the integration of our company," said Ed Forester, former president of Connect and now Appia Director of Tenant Services. "Connect customers and prospects will see an immediate add in the products and resources Appia can bring to bear."
