Anonymous GM Calls Dominic Raiola A Fraud
DETROIT (97.1 The Ticket) If you remember a few weeks back an anonymous GM in the NFL took some shots at the Detroit Lions on Profootballweekly.com.
This GM said the Lions' problems were worse than just the special teams, adding, "The one thing that is clear – they are not as close as people have tried to make it seem. They are a one-dimensional offensive team that if the quarterback (Matthew Stafford) is not on, people are figuring it out. If you take (WR Calvin) Johnson out of the game (one TD through four games, compared to eight TDs at the same stage last season), who else do they have that can beat you?"
After hearing about these comments, Lions C Dominic Raiola blasted him as "a coward" for not revealing his name.
Today Profootballweekly.com ran another story about the anonymous GM calling out Raiola. The GM said: "I saw (Lions C) Dominic Raiola called me out, asking who the aimless, anonymous GM is who criticized the great Lions. 'Who is this person?' It's the guy who rejects you every time he watches your tape and thinks you are a complete fraud. It's the guy who didn't think you could play when you came out of college and still doesn't think you can play now. … If he spent as much time working the other muscles in his body as he does his jaw, he might have had the chance to be an average backup. You can put that in print."
The Lions aren't practicing today, but come tomorrow you can expect Raiola to be asked about the situation.
