Ann Arbor Considers Closing Fire Stations
ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - Ann Arbor Fire Department officials want to restructure, leaving the city with three fire stations, instead of five.
According to city leaders, such consolidation would mean more personnel on duty at any given time by increasing staffing at each fire station. And fire officials say the move would put the department more in line with national response guidelines.
The department is holding community meetings to discuss the issue before moving forward. The first is Tuesday evening. Others are scheduled Wednesday and Thursday.
