Amber Alert: Two Children Missing Near Grand Rapids
GRAND RAPIDS (WWJ) - UPDATE (10am): Children returned home safe.
Police in Grand Rapids have issued an Amber Alert for two missing children: a three-year-old boy and his one-year-old sister who were last seen around 8:30 Monday night.
Police are asking the community to be on the look out for three-year-old Vernon Williams and his one-year old sister Karis Kamdyn Lee. Both children are African American with black hair and brown eyes.
Vernon is three feet tall, 32 pounds, with a mark on the left side of his forehead, and was last seen wearing a brown sweat suit with orange and white stripes and black gym shoes.
Karis weighs about 28 lbs. and was last seen wearing teal sweat pants with a purple shirt.
The two were last seen in Wyoming, Michigan, near Grand Rapids, where they were allegedly abducted by 28-year-old Vernon Lee Williams. Williams is 5'6", 170 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and a tattoo on his neck. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt with a black vest.
The suspect was driving a green Chrysler Sebring, license number BZS9767, and was last seen near Blodgett Hospital in East Grand Rapids.
