Ambassador Bridge Hearing Thursday
DETROIT (WWJ) - UPDATE: Ambassador Bridge Owner Found In Contempt
The latest drama in the bridge to Canada saga unfolds in a downtown courtroom Thursday between the state and the Ambassador Bridge Company.
Judge Prentiss Edwards will rule Thursday morning whether the Ambassador Bridge company is in contempt of a court order to finish work connecting the span to two freeways.
In a hearing Wednesday, the state attorney general's office said the company was out of compliance and would not be able to meet the judge's January 10th deadline to complete the work. A company attorney says that is not the case, that they are obeying the judge's orders and will meet the deadline.
Judge Edwards jailed company president Dan Stamper briefly in January of last year for failing to follow judges orders.
