Alpine Valley Ski Area Hosts Annual Ski Swap And Sale
WHITE LAKE (WWJ) - 'Tis the season, almost, to hit the slopes.
Skiers and snow-boarders hunkering for some new equipment will be hitting Alpine Valley this weekend for the ski hill's annual Ski Swap and Sale.
"It's an all sports sale. People bring in other sporting equipment too, from ice skates to, it's mostly ski and snowboard but there's clothing, you know, and all kind of winter sports," said ski hill Operations Manager Gail Winterhalter.
Winterhalter says parents of young wanna-be Shawn White's or Lyndsey Dyer's can save quite a lot of green at the sale.
"Children's items are the hottest, so if anybody is in for children's skis or snowboards, they need to get here first thing because we seem to go through those faster than anything. And a lot of the equipment is still new," she said.
In addition to equipment at the sale, there will be clothes and accessories -- both new and used.
"It's not just individuals bringing in older, used equipment. There is a ski shop of two that is involved in the shop and they bring in some of their maybe year-old things that they haven't sold, but they are still brand new," she said.
The Ski Swap and Sale is Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., at Alpine Valley Ski Area on Highland Road/M-59 near Bogie Lake Road.
