Alleged Madam Sentenced In Federal Court
DETROIT (WWJ) - Sentencing for the so-called madam involved in a nationwide prostitution ring busted up in Metro Detroit last summer.
WWJ's Stephanie Davis was in the court for the sentencing of alleged madam of Miami-based Miami Companions escort service, Laure Carr.
Just before sentencing Carr asked the U.S. District Court Judge Arthur Tarnow for mercy and grace and that appears to be what she received for her role in a nationwide prostitution ring.
Judge Tarnow sentenced Carr to one day behind bars for each of the two counts to be served concurrently - so her one day time served - satisfies the sentence.
Carr's attorney said he was grateful that the law had been applied fairly in the case. Carr will be under supervised release for two years and will return to Florida to raise her son.
