San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Alex Boone has some choice words about his former head coach, Jim Harbaugh.
HBO's "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel" is airing an episode about Jim Harbaugh on Tuesday and Boone was featured in the piece.
The former Ohio State Buckeye described Harbaugh to HBO.
"I think he just pushed guys too far. He wanted too much, demanded too much, expected too much. You know, we gotta go out and do this. We gotta go out and do this. We gotta go out and do this.' And you'd be like, 'This guy might be clinically insane. He's crazy.'
Boone went on to talk about how Harbaugh isn't necessarily the most likeable guy.
"He does a great job of giving you that spark, that initial boom. But after a while, you just want to kick his ass. ... He just keeps pushing you, and you're like, 'Dude, we got over the mountain. Stop. Let go.' He kind of wore out his welcome."
The turmoil between the 49ers organization and Harbaugh was well documented last season and the two parties ultimately parted ways.
HBO asked Harbaugh if he has a problem working with others.
He said, "It must be true. Because I'd wear out my welcome. People just don't want to be around you for a while."
Boone believes that Harbaugh is more fit for the college game, rather than the NFL.
Harbaugh may have "worn out his welcome" in San Francisco, but based on the public reception of him here in Michigan, I don't anticipate people getting sick of him anytime soon.
