Al Gore To Speak On Climate Change In Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) - Al Gore will bring his message of climate change to Detroit next month.
The former Vice President and presidential candidate will deliver the keynote address at the International Joint Commission's Great Lakes Water Quality biennial meeting October 13 at Wayne State University.
Gore was a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 for "informing the world of the dangers posed by climate change."
"Vice President Gore's appearance underlines the importance of the IJC's Biennial Meeting," said Lana Pollack, U.S. Chair of the IJC, in a media release. "The Biennial is a true summit of everyone from interested members of the public to a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. His efforts on climate change will inform the IJC's future science-based work on Great Lakes climate impacts."
Registration is free but space is limited.
The International Joint Commission is comprised of U.S. and Canadian citizens who monitor Great Lakes water quality.
