Airman Killed In Bike-Train Accident Returned For Michigan Funeral
GRAND RAPIDS (AP) - The body of an airman killed in a bike-train accident in Germany has been returned to western Michigan.
Air Force Staff Sergeant Joseph Weems was killed last week when a train struck him as he biked near Ramstein Air Base.
The 24-year-old worked in the 86th Maintenance Squadron, which maintains C-130 transport aircraft.
He was in his final week of military service.
His funeral is set for Friday morning in Caledonia, near Grand Rapids.
