Airline To Offer Select Flights For Under $30
ROMULUS (WWJ) - How does a $30 flight sound to you?
Frontier Airlines on Monday announced they will soon begin offering fares low as $29 to Trenton, New Jersey, expanding low-fare service at Trenton-Mercer Airport with the addition of five nonstop destinations launching in April.
Detroit Metro Airport spokesman Joe Cambron said, although many people may not realize it, Trenton is close to a number of major cities.
"(It's) 75 minutes to Times Square by car, 40 minutes to Philadelphia, 80 minutes to Allentown, Pennsylvania, and 60 minutes over to the beaches of New Jersey. So it's kind of a good central location," Cambron said. "It's a place people probably haven't flown into before, but operating to a place like that lets them charge fares like $29, which are pretty attractive."
Cambron said these fares will be available only on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. "... Which is another thing that these new super low-cost airlines, they don't fly everyday, so you have to make sure you pick the right day," he said.
The low introductory fares are available through January 23.
