Air Force Contract Will Bring Hundreds Of Jobs
DETROIT (WWJ) - The Air Force has awarded a $35 billion contract to build the next generation of air refueling tankers to Boeing, particularly welcome news to Washington state and Kansas, where much of the work on the tanker will be done.
The contract will also create jobs here in Michigan according to U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow.
"It will support and add 450 badly needed jobs in Michigan, Boeing does work with 280 different Michigan companies which generates over half a billion dollars in economic activity in Michigan," says Stabenow.
Suppliers in Livonia, Grand Rapids and Jackson will benefit from the Boeing contract.
