Agreed Upon Deal For Shoes Turns Into Armed Robbery Of 3 Detroit Teens; Police Looking For Suspects

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police are seeking the public's assistance identifying and locating two males who are believed to be suspects in the armed robbery of three teens.

Police say the robbery occurred in the 15700 block of Forrer, near Greenfield and Puritan, on Tuesday. The robbery happened as a 12-year-old boy, a 13-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man met the suspects to sell a pair of shoes as agreed upon on a social media site.

Both suspects made "small talk" before one pulled a gun on the 19-year-old and demanded he hand over the shoes.

When the 19-year-old did not comply and attempted to drive away, the second suspect reached inside the driver side of the vehicle and attempted to take his cell phone, but was unsuccessful.

The first suspect then turned his attention to the 13-year-old boy -- who was sitting in the rear of the vehicle -- pointing the gun in his face while taking miscellaneous property from the 12-year-old victim.

Both suspects then fled the area southbound on foot.

Police believe the suspects are also connected to three other armed robberies in the area and are considered to be armed and dangerous.

Suspect one is described as a black male between the ages of 15 and 18, 5-foot-8 and 120 pounds with a light complexion and a long afro. He was last seen wearing an orange Nike hoody and was armed with a handgun.

Suspect two is described as a black male between the ages of 15 and 18, 5-foot-6 and 120 pounds with a light complexion and freckles on his face, with a short haircut. He was last seen wearing gray basketball shorts and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Detroit police.
